Ongoing Face Masks Distribution in Long Beach, CA
As a nonprofit organization based in Long Beach, California and a majority of our Board members living locally, we strongly feel that we have a social responsibility towards our beloved Long Beach community, especially during these unprecedented times due to Covid-19 pandemic. After all, "charity begins at home" and "we are our brothers/sisters' keepers." Save African Families has been donating 3-ply face masks which are washable and reusable; they are adjustable and made to last, have a cooling/moisture-wicking lining. Only the best for our people! Our recipients, most of whom are disabled or cannot afford to purchase face masks are very grateful for these free gifts as it helps all of us to keep safe and healthy. If you would like to partner with us to give back to the communities, please donate on this secure website or call/text/email us. You can also donate to Save African Families through PayPal Giving Fund . https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/2406763 and www.smile.amazon.com Thanks so much!
Kimathi's story
Kimathi is 12 years old. We met him and his family during our food distribution efforts in Meru, Kenya where he accompanied his mother, grandmother and six siblings. You see, traditionally, Kimathi is now the head of the household since his father and grandfather died due to Covid-19. That is him, second from left in the second picture. He is also seen in the first picture in the background outside the small hut he is building for himself. Kimathi is a cheerful young man and wants to be an architect when he grows up. We presented his mother, some clothes for the baby in picture 3. I love to see their smiles despite having few material things, and would like to see Kimathi succeed in school to enable him support his younger siblings.

July 28, 2020 - Dry Food Distribution in Kenya
One of our donors was greatly touched by our food distribution to the community in Meru, Kenya that he asked us if he could partner with Save African Families again to donate more dry food that would last the families a little longer. We were so stoked and grateful for the generous gesture and donation. Below are some of the pictures showing bags of dry food being loaded onto motorcycles for the 100 miles transportation into the village (the roads are impassable by car). Recipients are seen here social distancing during food distribution by our S.A.F. team. One lady who is blind, had walked for over 20 miles to reach our distribution point (2nd row, fourth picture).
Thanks so much for your generous donation, it literally saves lives! If you would like to partner with Save African Families to reach even more people and make a difference in people's lives, please go to our "DONATION" page, any amount will be highly appreciated.

Tharaka Nithi, Meru County, Kenya. 5.25.20
These hard-working families of Tharaka Nithi community have been dealt a terrible blow of having to deal with the corona virus pandemic as well as the swarms of desert locusts that have destroyed tens of thousands of acres of crops.
We were able to provide temporary relief by donating food, washable face masks, soap, as well as other essential supplies. Although highly appreciated, the supplies were used up in a day or two.
If you would like to donate towards this or any other community, please go to our "DONATIONS" page. We greatly appreciate your kindness and help.
